Goldhofer has joined forces with Specialist Trailer Hire Ltd. in response to the increased demand for semi-trailers and heavy-duty modular systems. Specialist Trailer Hire Ltd. is offering rental services and sales of Goldhofer’s heavy-duty transport solutions in England. The truck and trailer rental company, with depots in Leeds and Rotherham, is initially adding 16 of Goldhofer’s new »STEPSTAR« self-tracking semi-trailers to its rental fleet. In addition, STH has a comprehensive service offering covering all aspects of maintenance and repair for Goldhofer vehicles. “With Goldhofer, we now have a partner with global experience at our side and top-quality, cost-effective transport solutions in our portfolio. This enables us to deliver reliability, flexibility and long service life on attractive terms. And that is precisely what our customers are looking for,” commented STH Director Mark Liversidge.

The addition of 16 »STEPSTAR« semi-trailers to its fleet seals the new partnership with Goldhofer for Spcialist Trailer Hire Ltd. – and will shortly give STH’s extensive customer base access to the self-tracking semi-trailers in the three-axle version with two-piece hydraulic ramps. They are ideal for transporting almost all self-propelled loads as well as various other cargos, and ensure fast and easy loading and unloading of the goods and machines. The vehicles, which come with a choice of tire size and frame options, are in the payload range of 30 to 45 tons. Practical accessories, »TraffideckGo« low-wear anti-slip polymer decking, and an intelligent lashing system are the features of the »STEPSTAR« models, as is a long and wide excavator boom recess. The 16 »STEPSTAR« semi-trailers include six “Plant Trailers“, i.e. 3-axle non-extending semi-trailers designed especially for transporting construction machinery on the UK market. For such major engineering programs as the UK’s new HS2 high-speed rail network, this version is in great demand due to its very low deadweight and resulting higher payload in the Cat 1 permit category.

“The “Plant Trailer” gives us a practical universal semi-trailer for our customers. They benefit from a large number of advantages in terms of functionality and an impressive payload-to-deadweight ratio,” said Mark Howe, Sales manager UK Goldhofer, and he continues, “the bottom line is significantly greater efficiency and more economical operations.”

“With STH, we now have a strong partner in a great central location with a proven track record in terms of technical know-how and many years of experience in the industry. This guarantees renters and owners of Goldhofer transport systems full and fast professional service – including training – in the UK,” said Robert Steinhauser, Director of Sales Europe/Africa at Goldhofer AG.
