Sany UK has delivered its first 200 tonne fully electric crawler crane to Sarens UK, marking another step in the deployment of zero emission heavy lifting equipment in Europe.

The SCC2000A EV is the first electric crawler crane to enter service with both SANY and Sarens in the UK and the second unit of this model delivered to the wider Sarens Group in Europe.

The crane forms part of a three unit package, with two additional machines scheduled to arrive in the UK.

Designed as a fully electric alternative to conventional crawler cranes, the SCC2000A EV is intended to support lifting operations on projects where reducing site emissions is becoming an increasingly important requirement.

The delivery also reflects the growing focus from both manufacturers and crane rental companies on lowering the carbon footprint of heavy lifting activities without reducing lifting capacity or operational performance.

To support the introduction of the new crane, Sany provided Sarens UK with three days of operator induction, assembly guidance and technical assistance, including weekend support during the handover process.

Sany said the delivery demonstrates the increasing role of electric crawler crane technology in supporting lower emission construction, infrastructure and energy projects.

For Sarens UK, the addition of the SCC2000A EV expands the company’s ability to offer electric lifting solutions for projects where net zero targets, local emissions restrictions or sustainability requirements are becoming part of the tender and project planning process.
