Mammoet has become the first heavy lifting and transport service provider to achieve ISO 19443 certification, the international quality management standard specifically developed for organisations operating within the nuclear power sector.
Published in 2018, ISO 19443 establishes quality management requirements across areas including operations, sales, procurement, human resources, engineering, training and health and safety.
The certification process took Mammoet three years to complete and included an extensive audit of the company’s processes, organisational culture, engineering capabilities, training and safety procedures. The certificate will be awarded by DNV France, the third-party certification body.
Mammoet already holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications. The company pursued ISO 19443 as it continues to work with the nuclear industry on construction and heavy lifting strategies for next-generation reactor projects.
