DSV completes complex OOG road transport project in Kuwait

DSV has executed a complex oversized and overweight (OOG) road transport operation in Kuwait, supporting the movement of major industrial equipment for ACICO Industries Co.. The project marks a significant achievement for DSV’s Road division in the country and highlights its growing capabilities in engineered project transport solutions.

The scope of work included the transportation and erection of seven autoclaves, each measuring 34 m in length, 3.2 m in diameter, and weighing more than 65 tonnes, along with additional heavy units such as a ball mill and a steam boiler. Managing cargo of this size required specialised heavy haulage equipment, multi-axle trailer configurations, and advanced technical planning.

Despite a tight schedule and limited availability of suitable assets in the local market, DSV’s Kuwait operations team conducted a detailed technical study and engineered a tailored port-to-site transport solution. The entire operation, from vessel discharge to final offloading, was completed within 96 hours.

The project faced several challenges, including restricted night movements, police permit coordination, heavy rainfall, and difficult ground conditions at the delivery site. Dedicated HSE supervision was maintained throughout to ensure safe execution at both port and site.

“This project reflects the dedication and discipline of our road operations team,” said Ali Farhat, Director and Country Manager, Road, Kuwait.

Abdulkarim Baig, Manager, Road, Kuwait, added that the operation demonstrated strong coordination and technical expertise under pressure.
