Air Charter Service recorded a 47% year-on-year increase in charter volumes across its European operations, with revenue climbing 86% to almost €130 million during the first six months of the year.

The performance follows continued expansion of ACS’s European network, including new offices opened over the past 12 months in Brussels, Stuttgart, Monaco and Barcelona, alongside growth within existing teams.

Every region within the company’s mainland European network recorded improved results compared with the previous year, with particularly strong performances in Germany and Spain. ACS also reported better-than-expected results from its Italian operation during its first full year of trading.

French-speaking markets delivered significant growth, with business handled through the company’s Paris, Geneva, Brussels and Monaco offices increasing 49% year-on-year.

“Our offices across Mainland Europe have done exceptionally well so far this year, with the 47% increase partially down to our new offices, along with expanding our existing teams across the continent,” said Andrew Summers, Regional Director for Europe at Air Charter Service.

ACS attributed part of the increase to major events and disruption-driven charter requirements, including the World Cup and additional demand created by supply-chain disruption and evacuation activity. The company said underlying growth nevertheless remained well above the wider European market.

According to ACS, European charter activity overall grew by around 3% over the same period based on WingX data.

The company expects the momentum to continue, with its European offices still recording significantly higher year-on-year charter volumes during the third quarter.
