More than 200 employees at Air Charter Service’s London headquarters are set to benefit from a series of upgraded workplace facilities following the completion of the first phase of a major redevelopment project at the company’s £18 million headquarters.
The 47,000 sq ft building serves as the global headquarters for the aircraft charter specialist and houses key departments including sales, finance, IT, flight operations, marketing, legal, compliance and human resources. The facility is also home to the ACS Training Centre, where charter brokers and managers from offices around the world receive specialist training.
The first phase of the refurbishment programme has delivered a range of new amenities designed to enhance employee wellbeing, collaboration and productivity. These include a revitalised reception area, a new staff restaurant and games zone, upgraded gym and wellness facilities, a dedicated film studio, an enhanced Digital Transformation and IT department, and a secure cycle parking area.
A key feature of the redevelopment is the expanded staff restaurant, which offers seating for more than 120 people and includes café-style breakout spaces and recreational areas. Employees also benefit from complimentary breakfast and lunch provided daily by an in-house catering team.
“When the opportunity arose to buy the building, we decided it was the right time to purchase it, as it allowed us to invest in creating not just a good, but industry-leading workplace,” said Chris Leach, Chairman of Air Charter Service.
The completion of several final projects in May marked the end of the first phase of upgrades. Planning is already underway for a second phase, which will focus on further improvements to the company’s meeting room facilities and training centre, as well as the installation of additional electric vehicle charging points to support growing demand.
“Our objective was to make coming into the building a pleasure and to make sure that our team have everything they need to thrive at work,” added Chris Leach. “We will always continue to invest in our people because they are the key to our success.”
