A brand new Liebherr crawler crane for expansion of the Port of Vado Ligure

In the Port of Vado Ligure, in Northeastern Italy, the dredging company Co.Ed.Mar is using for some time its self-propelled barge « Wise », in which a brand new Liebherr duty cycle crawler crane HS 8130 HD is installed in order to remove the sediment. Fitted with a hydraulic clamshell bucket, the machine has a handling performance of 400 cubic meters per hour, which is equal to the barge loading capacity, and has cycle times of only 45 seconds. These operations take place within the port expansion, wishing to extend its capacity and welcome more and larger vessels.

CMA-CGM commercialized Traxens, an innovative solution for container tracking

The French group CMA-CGM, one of the maritime transport leaders, just announced a new offer for container tracking : Traxens. This connected device is fixed on the container and then check its location by land or by sea. It enables to know the intensity of the bumps and the temperature change outside. It can also know if the doors are open or closed. By a warning system in near real time, customers can track the goods and gain agility in the different stages of the transport.

Mathieu Friedberg, Senior Vice-President Commercial and Agency Network, explained that « CMA CGM reaffirms its customer centricity strategy by offering this innovative solution. With nearly 19 million containers carried in 2017, the generalization of smart containers in the Group’s fleet will allow to collect and analyze a lot of information necessary to improve the service offered to customers and will help them optimize their supply chain.”

Start of the delivery of 6 new Liebherr LH 60M Industry Litronic material handlers for voestalpine

The first of the 6 new Liebherr LH 60 M Industry Litronic handling machines from phase IV / Tier 4f was added to the machine park of the Austrian company Voestalpine Stahl GmbH in Linz. The company, which specialises in steel strips, heavy plates and casting products, operates a 100,000 m2 scrapyard, where around 6 million tonnes of steel circulate each year.

This 6 new machines will be mainly used for unloading carriages, sorting scrap and loading nearly 180 scrap charging boxes daily.
