DEME will transport and install 69 wind turbines for the 1 GW Zeevonk offshore wind farm in the Netherlands, expanding its role in the project following an earlier foundation installation award.
The latest contract covers phase one of Zeevonk and will see DEME deploy its next-generation jack-up offshore transport and installation vessel Norse Energi for the turbine campaign.
Located between 63 km and 84 km off Bergen aan Zee on the Dutch North Sea coast, Zeevonk is jointly owned by Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners through its Energy Investment Fund I.
Mobilisation is expected to begin in 2028, with offshore installation activities starting shortly afterwards. Completion is currently scheduled for 2029.
The turbine package follows a separate foundation installation contract awarded to DEME in July 2026, giving the company responsibility for multiple major offshore construction scopes across the project.
“Following the foundation installation award earlier this summer, this contract further expands DEME’s role in the delivery of the Zeevonk wind farm,” said Martin Degen, Business Unit Director WTG and O&M at DEME.
He added that the project demonstrates how DEME’s next-generation vessels can support increasingly large offshore wind developments across installation and commissioning activities.
The 1 GW development represents one of the Netherlands’ significant upcoming offshore wind projects and will contribute additional renewable generation capacity to the Dutch energy system.
The turbine installation contract remains subject to a final investment decision for the Zeevonk project.
