Port Houston will present ExxonMobil with its fourth annual Lone Star Award during the Houston International Maritime Conference, recognising the company’s long-standing role in the energy and maritime industries surrounding the Houston Ship Channel.

The award will be presented on 3 November during the conference, which runs from 2–5 November at the Hilton Americas in downtown Houston. Michael Mustian, President, Supply Chain at ExxonMobil, will accept the award and deliver the luncheon keynote address.

“The Houston Ship Channel’s success is built on strong partnerships, and ExxonMobil has long been an important part of the energy and maritime community we serve,” said Charlie Jenkins, CEO of Port Houston.

The Houston Ship Channel is one of the United States’ most important trade corridors, ranking as the country’s busiest waterway and a leading gateway for energy products, steel and resins. It is also home to the fifth-ranked US container port.

ExxonMobil maintains a major industrial presence along the channel through its Baytown Complex, which dates back to 1920 and now spans approximately 3,400 acres. The operation includes four manufacturing sites, a nearby plastics plant in Mont Belvieu and a global technology centre.

This year’s Houston International Maritime Conference will bring together representatives from the maritime, energy and petrochemical sectors, with sessions covering Panama Canal developments, geopolitics and global trade, import and export markets, ocean carriers and developments in the resins trade.

The Lone Star Award recognises organisations that have made a significant contribution to the Houston Ship Channel and the wider regional trade and maritime economy.
