deugro, a heavy lift and project cargo specialist founded in 1924 in Frankfurt, Germany, is intensifying its focus on the green energy sector as it kicks off its 2024 centenary celebrations at Breakbulk Middle East in Dubai from 12-13 February.

The family-run company has expanded its attention to new industries in recent years, with a particular emphasis on renewables. Steffen Behrens, President Middle East at deugro, expressed excitement about commemorating the milestone anniversary in a region highlighting the rapidly growing renewables sector.

Having entered the Middle East market in Saudi Arabia in 1982, deugro now operates eight regional offices in five countries, including the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar. They have been actively involved in supporting large solar farms in the region and have recently transported heavy lift cargoes for the world’s largest green hydrogen plant in Saudi Arabia, facilitating green ammonia production for export.
