deugro and Jerilai Pujari Transport Limited (JPTL) have formed a strategic joint venture to provide logistics services for a major LNG development in Papua New Guinea.

The newly established company, Purari Project Services Limited (PPSL), will facilitate local landowner participation in the transportation of materials, goods and equipment from Port Moresby to project construction sites on the Purari River.

The partnership combines deugro’s international project logistics expertise and presence in Papua New Guinea since 2007 with JPTL’s local knowledge and landowner representation. The structure also creates opportunities for future participation by recognised river- and pipeline-affected landowner joint ventures.

For deugro, this project represents an important strategic opportunity to build on nearly two decades of operations in Papua New Guinea,” said Mark van der Molen, deugro’s appointed Director of PPSL.Drawing on this experience, our local presence, and strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, we are well positioned to provide turnkey marine and logistics support across the various project packages.”

Klaus Strahmann, CEO of deugro, added: “Through Purari Project Services Limited, we are combining our global expertise as a project solutions provider and extensive experience in Papua New Guinea with strong local participation.”

The formation of PPSL was marked at a ceremony in Port Moresby attended by representatives from deugro, JPTL and Jerilai Pujari Holdings Limited.
