Develon, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, inaugurates a new Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) in Jundiaí, Brazil, marking its first in South America and eleventh globally. Jundiaí was strategically selected for its proximity to São Paulo and its convenient access to major airports like Congonhas, Guarulhos, and Viracopos, as well as the bustling sea port of Santos.
At the grand opening ceremony, CEO Young-cheul Cho of HD Hyundai Infracore (HDI), Develon’s parent company, expressed his utmost pleasure in the company’s expansion efforts. He emphasized Brazil’s increasing significance, citing its abundant potential in both human capital and natural resources. Cho reiterated the company’s commitment to Brazil, underscoring their pledge made two years ago to staff and customers alike.
The newly inaugurated PDC is poised to play a pivotal role in Develon’s growth strategy in Brazil, ensuring swift access to parts for customers across the nation through its network of dealers. Spanning an impressive 1988 m², the facility represents an initial investment surpassing $2 million, exclusive of stock value. The goal for 2024 is to stock a comprehensive inventory of 12,000 items, thereby slashing delivery times by an impressive 70%.
Cho further stressed the significance of the occasion, highlighting Develon’s dedication to the Brazilian market and its ambitious plans for the future. He expressed confidence in the company’s ability to surmount any obstacles alongside its partners, new president Kiwung Kim, and the passionate HDI team. Together, they aim to make a positive impact and usher in a new era of progress in Brazil.
