Kalmar has launched the fully electric TT7 EV terminal tractor for the European market, expanding its range of zero-emission cargo handling solutions.

The new TT7 EV joins the recently introduced TT7 series and has been designed for use in port terminals, logistics yards and distribution operations. Sales officially begin during the TOC Europe Conference taking place in Hamburg, Germany, from 19-21 May 2026.

Built on the re-engineered TT7 chassis platform, the electric terminal tractor incorporates customer feedback focused on durability and maintenance efficiency. The vehicle features a heavy-duty galvanised steel frame and reinforced axles designed for demanding shunting operations across Europe.

According to Kalmar, the TT7 EV offers enhanced operator visibility through one of the widest front windscreens in the industry, combined with large rear windows and convex side mirrors to improve safety.

The tractor is also equipped with hardware and software compatible with MyKalmar INSIGHT, enabling operators to monitor battery condition and performance data to improve operational efficiency.

Additional features include a maintenance-friendly three-section front bumper, reduced mechanical servicing requirements thanks to the electric drivetrain and an upgraded cabin with improved suspension, climate control and ergonomic enhancements for driver comfort.

Thor Brenden, president of terminal tractors at Kalmar, said the TT7 EV was developed in response to increasing customer demand for a zero-emission version of the company’s latest terminal tractor platform without compromising performance or operational visibility.

Kalmar will present the TT7 EV and its wider terminal tractor portfolio during TOC Europe in Hamburg.
