Kalmar has secured an order for two electric reachstackers from Dutch logistics and terminal operator C. Steinweg Handelsveem B.V., further strengthening a partnership that spans more than four decades.

The order, booked in Kalmar’s second quarter 2026 intake, is scheduled for delivery during the first quarter of 2027. The new machines will be deployed at Steinweg’s multipurpose and breakbulk terminal facilities in Rotterdam, supporting daily cargo handling activities while advancing the company’s sustainability objectives.

The agreement also includes a Kalmar Care service contract, providing on demand technical support and maintenance to maximise equipment availability and reliability. In addition, Steinweg will benefit from a MyKalmar INSIGHT subscription, including the Driver Access premium module, as well as ongoing support through Kalmar Genuine Parts.

Steinweg already operates a fleet of Kalmar reachstackers and forklift trucks and is continuing its transition towards electric equipment.

“We chose Kalmar based on the high quality of their service and the proven reliability and safety of their products,” said Dominic Gruszczynski, Manager Mobile Assets at Steinweg. “Experiencing the performance of the electric reachstackers firsthand confirmed that Kalmar can fully meet our demanding operational requirements, support our long term sustainability vision and reduce our environmental impact. Furthermore, we are already exploring the next phase: electrifying our forklifts in the heavy range with Kalmar.”

The latest investment reflects Steinweg’s commitment to reducing emissions while maintaining efficient terminal operations.

“Our four decade partnership with Steinweg dates back to the 1980s, when we first supplied heavy diesel forklifts for their stevedoring work,” said Maurice Butin Bik, Sales Manager Benelux at Kalmar. “Today, we are proud to support their strategic decision to transition their fleet to electric solutions.”
