Calgary Rolling Mix Concrete is reporting strong performance gains after adding three RA40 articulated haulers from Rokbak to its high-output Carseland Pit operation in Alberta, Canada.
The fleet was supplied by Headwater Equipment, Rokbak’s regional dealer, as part of a strategy focused on reliability, fuel efficiency and robust aftermarket support. The site produces around half a million tonnes of sand and gravel annually for concrete applications ranging from foundations to pavements.
Two RA40 units entered service in 2023, with a third delivered in 2025. Each 41.9-tonne-capacity hauler moves material across short but intensive 0.75–1 km haul routes. The machines feature a 66-degree dump angle and dual-slope tail chute to accelerate material discharge, while their high-strength steel bodies are designed for durability in tough pit conditions.
Operator feedback has highlighted fuel savings, cab comfort, visibility and the integrated auto-lube system as key benefits. The RA40’s automatic transmission, advanced braking systems and fuel-efficient drivetrain support both productivity and lower operating costs, while meeting global emissions standards.
To maximise uptime, Rolling Mix Concrete has introduced a fleet rotation plan, replacing one hauler every three years at around 6,000 operating hours to maintain a modern, low-hour fleet.
Headwater Equipment provides on-site maintenance and parts support, ensuring minimal downtime. Company representatives say the combination of machine performance and dealer backing has made the RA40 a preferred choice as the operation continues to scale output at the Alberta pit.
