Continental has introduced ContiConnect Lite, a new app designed for digital tire management. Acting as a bridge between tire sensors and professional tire management, ContiConnect Lite offers selected features free of charge. The app is compatible with tires equipped with an integrated Gen2 sensor, a feature Continental has been including in its off-the-road (OTR) radial tires since this year.
Martijn Oosterbaan, Head of Product Management at Continental Specialty Tires, highlights the benefits of digital tire management in enhancing safety, efficiency, and sustainability, especially in sectors like earthmoving, agriculture, and ports. The Bluetooth-enabled sensor allows tire data to be easily accessed via smartphone, simplifying digital tire management.
ContiConnect Lite is particularly beneficial for specialty tire applications, such as loaders, tractors, and port vehicles, where tire requirements are stringent. It aids fleet managers in monitoring tire conditions, catering to smaller fleet customers like those in recycling centers and asphalt mixing plants. With no additional hardware required, users can register via smartphone and connect their vehicles to the tire sensor via Bluetooth, receiving push notifications for changes in tire pressure or temperature.
