SeaPort Manatee Expands Cargo Capacity

Rate this post

SeaPort Manatee in Tampa Bay, Florida, is enhancing its container and general cargo handling capabilities by acquiring two Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7 Mobile Harbor Cranes. After ordering the first crane in Q1 2024, the port swiftly opted for a second in early Q2 to meet rising demand. Both cranes will be delivered by the end of the year.

As the nearest U.S. deepwater seaport to the expanded Panama Canal, SeaPort Manatee is gearing up for anticipated growth in cargo traffic. With four Konecranes already in operation, the new cranes will operate on electricity from the harbor mains, significantly reducing emissions and increasing efficiency.

“These new cranes will support our growing container business and our commitment to reducing emissions, benefiting the entire community,” said Carlos Buqueras, SeaPort Manatee’s executive director.

Alan Garcia, Sales Director at Konecranes, highlighted the cranes’ performance, reliability, and eco-efficiency as key attractions, reinforcing Konecranes’ role in driving sustainable growth in the material handling industry.
