Denzai Bangladesh completed the heavy transport, lifting and installation scope for a new pool condenser at the KAFCO fertiliser plant in Chattogram, managing the equipment’s journey from its factory in Italy through to final positioning in Bangladesh.
The project covered ocean and barge transport, heavy haulage, skidding, erection and installation, as well as removal of the existing pool condenser.
Denzai first managed port handling and ocean shipment from Italy to Bangladesh before transferring the new condenser by barge to the project site. The unit was rolled off at a temporary wet dock prepared on the riverbank, transported inland and moved using an Enerpac LH400SK low-height skidding system before continuing to the KAFCO plant.
The equipment spread included 800-tonne and 200-tonne crawler cranes, a 220-tonne all-terrain crane, eight axle lines of Goldhofer SPMT and a jack-up/jack-down system.
The final lifting phase included installation work using Denzai’s 800-tonne crawler crane, while the existing pool condenser was removed and transferred to a designated storage area within the KAFCO site.
“We are proud to have completed all major lifting and transportation works for KAFCO safely, smoothly and without any incident. This is a significant milestone for Denzai Bangladesh Ltd., achieved through the dedication, professionalism and teamwork of our entire project team,” said Omar Faruk, Managing Director of Denzai Bangladesh Ltd.
KAFCO is one of Bangladesh’s largest private-sector fertiliser facilities and produces ammonia and urea at its Chattogram complex.
By managing the operation from international shipment through to final installation, Denzai provided a single logistics and heavy-lift solution across the complete transport chain.
