A Modulift 1000 tonne spreader beam recently played a key role in an extreme load test in Germany, where two cranes lifted a combined load of 1,125 tonnes to validate lifting performance under proof-load conditions.
Supplied by LGH Europe, the MOD 800J/1000 spreader beam was selected for its high lifting capacity and ability to distribute loads evenly across multiple lifting points, ensuring controlled force transfer between both cranes throughout the test.
The proof-load exercise exceeded the beam’s 1,000 tonne working load limit, a standard procedure used to verify the integrity and performance of lifting equipment before it enters operational service. Such testing helps identify potential weaknesses while reducing risk to personnel and equipment.
