Fogmaker International AB announces a new cooperation with MAN Truck & Bus, integrating its automatic fire protection system directly into MAN’s bus manufacturing process. The partnership strengthens safety standards in bus production and reinforces both companies’ commitment to protecting passengers, drivers and vehicles.
The Fogmaker system uses high-pressure, water-based mist technology to detect and suppress fires at an early stage. Designed to minimize damage and operational downtime, it provides enhanced protection for onboard occupants while safeguarding operators’ long-term investments. With MAN producing between 5,000 and 6,000 buses annually, the collaboration is also expected to increase production volumes at Fogmaker’s facility in Växjö, Sweden.
In Europe, fire suppression systems in buses and coaches are regulated under UNECE R107. Fogmaker’s solution is R107 approved and IATF certified, ensuring compliance with stringent automotive quality and safety standards throughout the design and manufacturing process.
Johan Bjerstedt, Sales and Marketing Manager at Fogmaker International, said the agreement with one of Europe’s largest bus manufacturers significantly strengthens the company’s footprint in the market. He noted that Fogmaker’s investments in becoming a reliable automotive supplier are now being recognized at industry level.
Key Account Manager Johan Stark added that the project has been developed over an extended period and expressed pride that MAN vehicles will leave the factory equipped with advanced fire protection technology.
Fogmaker operates globally with partners in more than 60 countries and nearly 400,000 installed systems, positioning itself as one of the leading suppliers of fire suppression solutions for vehicles and machinery.
