Global air charter specialist Chapman Freeborn has bolstered its presence in Saudi Arabia by signing a strategic agreement with AJEX Logistics Services, a Middle East-based leader in express distribution and shipping solutions.
This expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, an ambitious national plan to transform the Kingdom’s economy and increase air freight capacity to 4.5 million tons annually.
“This collaboration aligns with our mission to provide world-class aviation services and reflects our dedication to supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030,” said Gerhard Coetzee, Vice President of Cargo at Chapman Freeborn. “Together, we will drive innovation and excellence in aviation and cargo operations, ensuring that our clients benefit from the best possible service.”
The agreement encompasses comprehensive airport ground and cargo handling services, as well as the management of special cargo projects. This move underscores Chapman Freeborn’s long-term commitment to the region, supported by significant investments in personnel over the past two years, including the appointment of Linas Dovydenas as President of IMEA (India, Middle East, and Africa) in November.
AJEX Logistics Services CEO Mohammed Albayati emphasized the benefits of the partnership, stating: “By combining our regional strengths with Chapman Freeborn’s extensive global network, we are committed to delivering enhanced aviation and cargo solutions that support the Kingdom’s ambitious growth objectives.”
Launched in 2016, Saudi Vision 2030 seeks to diversify the country’s economy and reduce its reliance on hydrocarbons. The partnership between Chapman Freeborn and AJEX demonstrates their shared commitment to these goals.
Chapman Freeborn’s reputation for excellence was recently recognized when it was named Air Charter Broker of the Year at the Payload Asia Awards in October, highlighting its role in strengthening supply chains and delivering rapid responses to humanitarian crises.
