Seaway7, a part of the Subsea7 Group, has officially secured a substantial contract from Equinor and Polenergia for the inter-array cables of the MFW Bałtyk II and MFW Bałtyk III offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea, Poland.

The scope of Seaway7’s work encompasses the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of 100 inter-array cables rated at 66kV, spanning approximately 200 kilometers. Offshore operations are set to commence in 2026, with both projects to be executed in continuous campaigns.

MFW Bałtyk II and MFW Bałtyk III, a joint venture shared equally between Equinor and Polenergia, represent two of Poland’s most significant and advanced offshore wind farms, boasting a combined installed capacity of 1.44 GW.

Located in the Polish exclusive economic zone of the Baltic Sea, these wind farms will be positioned between 22 and 37 kilometers from the coastline, with water depths ranging from 25 to 40 meters.

Stuart Fitzgerald, CEO of Seaway7, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to have been chosen to handle the complete inter-array cable scope for these substantial wind farms in the Baltic region. This marks Seaway7’s debut contract in Poland, an emerging market for offshore wind. We eagerly anticipate extending our longstanding collaboration with Equinor and supporting them on their journey towards energy transition with this, our sixth offshore wind project together.”
