A removable 87-litre waste tank and certified lifting point allow the offshore welfare unit to be serviced and transferred at remote wind sites.
Cargostore Worldwide’s LiftaLoo has won the People First Award at RenewableUK’s fifth Global Offshore Wind Awards in London, recognising an approach to welfare provision at offshore wind installations.
Launched in 2025, the unit addresses a practical problem for technicians working on turbines and remote platforms where conventional toilet facilities are unavailable. Providing facilities at the work location is intended to avoid vessel transfers made solely for toilet access.
The design combines a recyclable LLDPE monocoque with internal aluminium reinforcement. A LOLER-certified single lifting point enables crane handling, while four deck lashing points secure the unit during transport and deployment.
Waste is collected in a sealed, removable 87-litre tank, allowing servicing without moving the entire toilet. Inside, the equipment includes battery-powered hot-water handwashing, a marine-grade porcelain bowl, a magnetic seat, a sanitary bin and hooks for personal protective equipment, alongside lighting and ventilation.
The unit is manufactured by Tharsus. Its development has been supported by investment from Connection Capital LLP and Agathos Management LLP.
