WireCo has named Luis Padilla Chief Operating Officer for North America, where he will lead the company’s regional business and oversee operational performance, manufacturing and execution.
Reporting directly to CEO Keith White, Padilla will focus on strengthening WireCo’s North American operations, improving consistency across the business and driving customer service and profitable growth.
“Luis brings a rare combination of deep industry knowledge, technical expertise and proven executive leadership,” said White. “His experience leading complex, multi-site businesses and driving meaningful operational improvement will be highly valuable as we continue strengthening our North American organization. I am confident he will make an immediate and lasting contribution to WireCo.”
Padilla brings nearly 30 years of experience in the rope industry. He most recently served as President and CEO of Knowix, where he led the development of an Industrial Internet of Things platform focused on predictive analytics and digital monitoring technologies for rope applications.
Previously, he spent nearly 15 years with Cortland Company, ultimately serving as President. During this period, he led a multinational, multi-site business generating more than $40 million in revenue, while overseeing operational transformation, manufacturing consolidation and portfolio optimisation.
Padilla is also a recognised figure within the global cordage industry, having served multiple terms as President of the Cordage Institute. He holds several U.S. patents relating to advanced rope technologies, structural health monitoring and Industrial Internet of Things applications.

During his first months with WireCo, Padilla will visit the company’s locations throughout North America and meet with employees and customers as he becomes familiar with its operations, products and markets.
