deugro Chile, in collaboration with deugro China, has successfully completed the transport of nearly 100 vehicles from China to Chile, overcoming tight market conditions and operational challenges.
deugro coordinated the shipment of 84 buses and eight forklifts, with individual units measuring up to 12.60 x 2.60 x 3.70 metres and weighing as much as 20.3 tonnes. In total, the cargo exceeded 8,000 CBM and reached a combined weight of nearly 1,064 tonnes.
The units were collected at the Port of Taicang, China, and shipped via a car carrier to San Antonio Port in Chile during a peak season marked by limited availability of RO/RO vessel space.
“Thanks to the early planning and proactive management by our Chartering team, we secured guaranteed RO/RO vessel capacity during the peak season,” said Leonel Calderon, Senior Business Development at deugro Chile. “This enabled us to protect our clients’ delivery schedules, reduce operational risk and ensure reliable cargo execution even in a highly constrained market environment.”
In parallel, close coordination with partners, including the shipper, carrier agents and trucking companies, was essential to meet strict regulatory cleanliness requirements. This included organising disinfection at the port of origin and proactively addressing potential operational challenges.
To ensure safe handling, surveyors were appointed for both loading in China and discharge in Chile, while deugro experts were present on board to supervise operations.
“Through seamless coordination and close communication with all partners, the vehicles were delivered safely, without damage, and fully in line with schedule,” Calderon added.
