Liebherr has strengthened its presence in Southeast Europe through a new strategic partnership with KranTehnik EU, covering eight Balkan countries including Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia.
The collaboration aims to modernise the region’s ageing tower crane fleet, where the average equipment age currently stands between 25 and 30 years. Over the next five years, the partners target a reduction to around 15 to 18 years, supporting contractors in the transition to modern, reliable crane technology.
KranTehnik EU will combine Liebherr’s portfolio of top slewing and self erecting cranes with local service capability, technical expertise and operator training. The focus is on reliable, easy to handle solutions suited to cost sensitive markets where transportability, fast erection and flexibility are decisive factors.
Croatia’s construction activity is currently driven by residential developments and EU backed infrastructure projects, particularly in Zagreb and along the Adriatic coast. In this environment, contractors prioritise proven technology, short response times and strong after sales support.
By aligning advanced crane technology with regional market knowledge, Liebherr and KranTehnik EU aim to raise operational standards, improve safety and promote long term sustainability across the Balkan construction sector.
