Specialist lifting equipment manufacturer Modulift has supported a complex lifting operation in central London, partnering with RSG Rentals and Keltbray Lifting to hoist an 8-tonne precast section beneath a façade retention structure—with just 2cm of headroom available.
With only 48 hours to mobilize the necessary equipment, Keltbray, an engineering and construction specialist, faced a tight timeline and tighter space. Turning to RSG Rentals, the team selected Modulift’s MP-12 Multi-Point Lifting Beam for its low-profile design and precision capabilities.

The MP-12 beam, with a lifting capacity of 12 tonnes and a span of 6 metres, offered a compact headroom requirement of only 630mm between shackle bearing points. It proved ideal for the job, offering both strength and flexibility in one of the capital’s most constrained environments.
Keltbray’s experienced team executed the lift with additional rigging gear including load ring lifting points, bow shackles, tag lines, and a counterbalanced beam to maintain stability.
From initial call to site delivery took just two days. By Wednesday morning, the equipment was on site and the lift was completed safely and on schedule.
“This project shows the power of collaboration and the importance of having the right lifting solution available at the right time,” said Sarah Spivey, Managing Director of Modulift. “The MP-12 beam’s capabilities were instrumental in overcoming the significant headroom constraints, and we’re proud to see it contributing to another successful lifting operation in the heart of London.”
