TII Kamag is marking three decades of innovation with the 30th anniversary of its groundbreaking swap body transporter, the Kamag PrecisionMover (formerly known as the “Wiesel”). Since its debut in 1995, the PrecisionMover has redefined yard logistics with its exceptional ergonomics, efficiency, and reliability, becoming a market leader in its segment.

The Kamag PrecisionMover, a highly mobile and precise swap body transporter, has set the standard for manoeuvring swap bodies, semi-trailers, and trailers in even the tightest spaces. What began with the first delivery to Deutsche Post in 1995 evolved into a benchmark in yard logistics, enhancing goods transshipment processes with its superior mobility and speed.

The success of the PrecisionMover lies in TII Kamag’s commitment to continuous innovation. Early models used Mercedes van cabins, but the introduction of the Mercedes ATEGO cab in 1999 revolutionized ergonomics and safety. Technical advancements such as the switch to hydrostatic drive in 1998 enabled precise and low-wear manoeuvring, making it ideal for confined depots.

In 2019, a redesigned driver’s cab with enhanced ergonomics and safety features, including excellent all-around visibility and hydraulic systems controlled from the driver’s seat, further cemented the PrecisionMover’s reputation. In 2024, TII Kamag introduced a hot-dip galvanized version, boosting efficiency and sustainability through improved corrosion resistance.

TII Kamag has led the charge toward sustainable logistics since 2013. The introduction of hybrid and fully electric models, including the ePrecisionMover (formerly E-Wiesel), reflects the company’s dedication to reducing CO₂ emissions. The third-generation ePrecisionMover, launched in 2024, features a more efficient battery, advanced thermal management, and reduced charging times, supporting environmentally conscious logistics operations.

The company is also advancing automation in yard logistics. Since 2018, TII Kamag has been conducting feasibility studies on autonomous depot solutions, aiming to revolutionize logistics with cutting-edge technology.

The Kamag PrecisionMover’s success extends beyond Germany, with over 2,500 units in operation across Europe. Its reliability and durability have earned it a loyal customer base, including major corporations, logistics specialists, and freight forwarders. A robust network of sales and service partners, including 14 service points in Germany, ensures prompt and expert support.

As it celebrates this milestone, TII Kamag is looking to the future, investing in research on autonomous vehicles and electromobility to address the evolving needs of the logistics industry. “Thirty years of Kamag PrecisionMover is not just a milestone for our company but for the entire logistics sector,” said Godehard Eidenhammer, Head of Sales Yard Logistics at TII Kamag. “We are proud of our success and are committed to shaping the future of logistics through sustainable innovation.
