€4.2m Grain Loading Gantry Enters Service at Rouen, France

A new €4.2 million grain loading gantry has entered service at Val-de-la-Haye, near Rouen in France, following a multi-stage transport, preassembly and heavy lifting operation involving barge transport on the Seine.

Financed by Lecureur Silos and managed by site operator Sénalia, the Neuero gantry has a loading capacity of 1,000 tonnes per hour and incorporates a grain accumulation system designed to provide greater control of product flow during vessel loading while significantly reducing dust emissions.

The project began with dismantling of the previous gantry in early 2026. Components for the replacement structure arrived separately during the spring and were transported to Rouen, where they were prepared and preassembled at the Bassin aux Bois quay.

The main sections were then transferred by barge along the Seine to the Val-de-la-Haye site. Pierre Menguy Levage participated in the transport, lifting and handling operations required during the delivery phase.

Final assembly at the terminal also involved Mediaco, which deployed a high-capacity crane to lift, assemble and position the major sections of the new gantry.

The installation forms part of an ongoing equipment renewal programme across Sénalia-operated grain facilities in Rouen and is intended to address dust generated during bulk cereal loading operations, including concerns raised by neighbouring communities.

Lecureur Silos invested €4.2 million in the project, while Sénalia coordinated the works as operator of the facility.

Following several months of dismantling, transport and installation work, the new 1,000t/h loading system was commissioned in September 2026.
