Autovictor has completed an integrated heavy transport and lifting operation in Rapallo, Italy, involving the final positioning of a 60-tonne transformer inside an electrical power station.
The project combined exceptional transport, industrial handling and precision lifting services, all coordinated internally by the company from initial lifting operations through to final installation.

The operation began at an external storage area where the transformer was lifted using a Liebherr LTM 1220 mobile crane and placed onto four-axle self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) operated by Autovictor.
Once secured, the transformer was transported approximately 200 metres to the entrance of the power station. During the move, the crane convoy followed the SPMTs and underwent configuration changes before entering the facility, including counterweight loading and boom adjustment to suit the restricted internal working environment.

Inside the power station, the Liebherr LTM 1220 lifted the transformer directly from the SPMTs and completed the final positioning operation within the facility.
Alongside the transport and lifting work, Autovictor also provided engineering support for the project, including ground-bearing capacity analysis and calculations related to stabiliser pressure from the crane setup to ensure operational safety throughout the lifting process.
The company said the project demonstrates its ability to deliver fully integrated heavy transport and heavy lifting solutions through a single operational structure, combining specialised equipment, engineering expertise and technical coordination for complex industrial operations.
