Rate this post

Konecranes has bolstered its position in the strategically important North American market by acquiring the industrial and nuclear crane and crane service operations of privately-held Whiting Corporation. With over a century of experience, Whiting is a well-respected and recognized player in North America, serving a diverse range of customers including steel mills, automotive plants, fossil fuel plants, metal service centers, and hydro-electric and nuclear power plants.

This acquisition provides Konecranes with access to a vast installed base of Whiting’s cranes, as well as new customers and growth opportunities for its Industrial Service and Equipment business area. The business being acquired has a presence in 7 locations and a workforce of around 130 employees. This move is expected to help Konecranes further expand its footprint in North America and reinforce its commitment to providing top-notch crane and service operations to its customers.

We welcome this talented group of Whiting colleagues to Konecranes and look forward to driving together our new and exciting growth opportunities,” said Bernie D’Ambrosi, SVP Americas for Industrial Service and Equipment at Konecranes
