Manitowoc will use bauma China 2026 in Shanghai to unveil a new high-capacity Potain luffing jib crane and provide an early look at a next-generation large flat-top model scheduled for launch in 2027.

The company will also present new digital technologies, energy solutions and aftermarket services under the theme “Complete Lifting Solutions. Trusted Every Day”, with Potain and Grove equipment forming part of a wider focus on crane productivity, uptime and lifecycle support.

Full details of the new Potain luffing jib crane will be announced during the exhibition, while Manitowoc will provide an initial preview of the forthcoming high-capacity flat-top crane.

“As customer requirements evolve, lifting solutions must extend beyond the crane to include responsive service, parts support, energy solutions, technical expertise, and lifecycle support,” said Brian Wang, President of Emerging Markets at Manitowoc.

Among the equipment on display will be the newly developed Potain K1000A mast. Measuring 3.45 x 3.45 metres, the heavy-duty mast is designed for the MCT 2205 and will also be compatible with one of the new high-capacity cranes being introduced at the show.

The K1000A provides an alternative to the 4 x 4-metre mast sections currently offered for Potain’s larger tower cranes, giving contractors another option for heavy-duty tower configurations.

Manitowoc will also showcase Potain Power Solutions, its range of energy systems designed to improve power management and efficiency on tower crane sites.

Digital equipment will include the new ECS, or Ergo Control System, alongside anti-collision technology, cameras and crane monitoring systems aimed at improving operator awareness and equipment management.

Aftermarket support will form another major part of the company’s presence, reflecting increasing demand from crane owners for stronger parts availability, technical support and lifecycle services alongside the equipment itself.

Manitowoc will also host an Industry Forum on 26 November, bringing together manufacturers, dealers, rental companies and crane users to discuss infrastructure investment, urbanisation, sustainability, workforce challenges and developments across emerging markets.

The wider programme will include customer events, technical sessions and product presentations throughout the exhibition.
