Strong port-equipment deliveries lifted third-quarter sales by 28.3% at comparable exchange rates, while order intake fell 36.7%, highlighting the uneven timing of major contracts.

Konecranes’ Port Solutions business recorded €420 million in third-quarter net sales, supported by strong deliveries, as the group reported contrasting trends between equipment shipments and new orders.

Port Solutions order intake fell to €288 million, down 36.7% year-on-year at comparable exchange rates. The company attributed the decline to unfavourable order timing, while describing customer activity across its product lines as very active. Higher volumes helped lift the division’s comparable EBITA margin to 12.0%, against 11.8% a year earlier.

Across the group, July–September net sales rose 11.4% to €1,101.5 million, or 10.3% at comparable exchange rates. Order intake declined 12.0% to €1,011.3 million, with growth in Industrial Service and Industrial Equipment offset by the fall in Port Solutions.

Comparable EBITA reached €172.2 million, up from €164.9 million, although the margin eased to 15.6% from 16.7%. The quarter benefited from approximately €8 million in US tariff refunds.

At the end of September, the group’s order book stood at €3,302.3 million, up 8.0% on a reported basis. Konecranes maintained its 2026 guidance, expecting sales to remain broadly unchanged or increase and its comparable EBITA margin to remain broadly stable against 2025.

The company said container throughput remained high and long-term container-handling prospects were favourable, while geopolitical uncertainty and trade-policy tensions continued to affect the outlook.
