Faymonville Group transport solutions are playing a central role in the Uiseong Hwanghaksan Onshore Wind Farm Project in South Korea, where WingMAX and BladeMAX1000 systems are ensuring seamless blade delivery across challenging terrain.

Located in Uiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, the project is one of the country’s largest onshore wind developments. It comprises 15 6.6 MW turbines supplied by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, each with rotor diameters of up to 170 metres and tower heights of around 180 metres. Distributed along an eight-kilometre corridor, the wind farm is expected to generate approximately 146,000 MWh annually—enough to supply more than 40,000 households. Commercial operation is scheduled for May 2026.

Transporting the 85-metre-long, 28-tonne blades has been one of the project’s key technical challenges. Korean specialist Anjeon Enterprise Co., Ltd. deployed a two-phase logistics strategy combining Faymonville WingMAX flatbed trailers and the Cometto BladeMAX1000 blade lifter mounted on self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs).

In the first phase, three-axle WingMAX trailers move the blades to an intermediate staging area. Pendle axles and a hydraulically adjustable gooseneck enable safe manoeuvring along narrow village roads and mountainous forest routes. In the second phase, the BladeMAX1000—described as the most powerful blade lifter on the market—transfers the components to the final site. Over a 15-kilometre route with gradients of up to 11 per cent, blades can be elevated to 60 degrees and rotated 360 degrees to overcome tight curves and steep inclines.

According to project partners, the combination of WingMAX and BladeMAX technologies, supported by Cometto’s patented Stability Control System, has delivered precise handling and high operational safety, reinforcing Anjeon Enterprise’s position as a leader in wind turbine blade transport in Korea.
