Sunbelt Rentals has opened applications for 60 new apprenticeship roles to mark National Apprenticeship Week, reinforcing its commitment to developing future talent across the UK.

The UK’s largest equipment rental provider currently supports 80 early career apprentices across 19 apprenticeship standards, spanning engineering, technical, business and professional disciplines. In addition, more than 225 existing colleagues are undertaking apprenticeships across over 20 development pathways. The programme is delivered in partnership with more than 30 training providers to ensure high-quality learning and nationally recognised qualifications.

Apprentices benefit from mentoring by experienced colleagues and structured support from the company’s Early Careers Team. Alongside technical training, the programme focuses on professional skills, wellbeing and recognising achievement, helping participants build long-term careers within the business.

Julie Harpley, Early Careers & Social Impact Academy Manager, said the breadth of frameworks available enables apprentices to gain hands-on experience from day one, whether pursuing engineering, skilled trades or roles in professional services.

In 2025, Sunbelt Rentals achieved Gold Membership of The 5% Club, confirming that more than 5% of its workforce is engaged in formal earn-and-learn schemes. The recognition highlights the company’s sustained investment in structured development and training excellence.

Max Doddy, who joined the business in 2023 and is completing a Level 3 Mechatronics qualification, said the combination of practical site experience and academic study has been key to building his engineering career.

Apprenticeships are available from Levels 2 to 6 at locations nationwide, with successful candidates set to begin in September 2026.
