Davies Turner, one of the UK’s leading independent freight and logistics providers, has announced a new strategic partnership with Manitoulin Global Forwarding (MGF), a top Canadian transportation specialist.
Effective from July 2025, this collaboration will strengthen Davies Turner’s ocean freight services to and from Canada, offering improved service coverage, faster transit times, and greater supply chain efficiency. The move follows Canada’s agreement to ratify Britain’s accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), which is expected to stimulate trade between the two countries.
With over 30 years of experience in Canadian ocean freight, Davies Turner is known for its reliability and innovation. Partnering with MGF — a family-owned business with 60 years of expertise and a nationwide network of 85 freight stations and over 1,500 vehicles — marks a major step in expanding its North American reach.
The partnership will provide seamless LCL (Less-than-Container Load) and FCL (Full Container Load) solutions across Canada’s East and West Coasts, with connections into the US Midwest and Northeast. Weekly services via Liverpool and Montreal will offer highly competitive transit times.
Tony Cole, director at Davies Turner, commented: “This partnership with MGF is an exciting new chapter for our Canadian services. It allows us to strengthen our two-way trade lanes just as the CPTPP agreement is set to boost UK-Canada trade. Together, we’re ready to deliver faster, more reliable ocean freight solutions tailored to our customers’ evolving needs.”
