Nooteboom Trailers is expanding its wind transport solutions with the launch of the four-times extendable Super Wing Carrier XL (SWC-XL). Designed to accommodate wind turbine rotor blades exceeding 85 meters, this advanced trailer offers enhanced length, payload capacity, and stability.

The SWC-XL introduces the patented “Wing Shaped Beam,” allowing for an ultra-low transport height behind the gooseneck, where the root of the rotor blade is positioned. This innovation ensures a safer and more efficient transport process.

With rotor blades growing in length and weight, the SWC-XL features a 2-axle Jeep dolly for an 8×4 truck at the front and four pendulum axle lines at the rear. The loading floor can be extended in multiple stages beyond 75 meters. Additionally, filling plates help adjust the trailer’s curve to optimize clearance and height.

To counterbalance the heavier root end of modern rotor blades, the SWC-XL integrates its steering system into the Jeep dolly chassis rather than the gooseneck. A wide axle bogie and torsion-resistant chassis further improve stability. Its free-rotating Jeep dolly and 60-degree pendulum axle steering angle enable exceptional maneuverability, overcoming extreme transport challenges.

The SWC-XL reduces loading and unloading times with remote-controlled hydraulic support legs and protected system lines. When empty, the Jeep dolly can be lifted for fast retraction. The trailer’s design minimizes stress on the rotor blades, increasing turbine lifespan and reducing maintenance costs.

International logistics firm LASO Transportes has extensively tested the SWC-XL, ensuring top-tier performance. Following successful trials, LASO will receive its second unit in April after the trailer’s official debut at Bauma Munich
