As Canada ramps up efforts to improve energy efficiency in buildings, Sarens has played a key role in a recent green renovation project in Hamilton, Ontario. The company partnered with Superior Boiler Works & Welding to install a 99,000+ pound Rooftop Unit (RTU) at an affordable housing complex, using an LTM 1500 8.1 crane unit.

This project aligns with national initiatives like the Canada Energy Efficiency Program and the Green Building Initiative, which aim to replace outdated HVAC systems with energy-efficient alternatives. With more than 20,000 renovation projects expected in 2025 and a projected $4.5 billion investment in residential energy efficiency, demand for such upgrades is set to rise.

Sarens’ engineering team conducted extensive planning before executing the lift on Jackson Street, one of Hamilton’s busiest roads. Safety and environmental considerations were paramount, particularly in securing loose sheet metal components.

Mario Carcamo, Sarens Project Manager, emphasized the company’s commitment to energy efficiency, stating, “We are proud to contribute to projects that enhance building performance and sustainability. We thank SBWW for their trust and look forward to future collaborations.”
