Mammoet has secured a contract with Dragados/Hawaiian Dredging/Orion JV to handle transportation and lifting for the upgrade of Dry Dock 5 at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This project, part of the Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP), aims to modernize the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard to better support the U.S. Pacific Fleet’s nuclear-powered submarines.

Mammoet will use specialized equipment to transport and lift heavy dry dock floor sections, each weighing over 4,000 tons. Foundation work has begun, with project completion expected by late 2027. The new, deeper dry dock will replace the existing one and accommodate Los Angeles and Virginia-class submarines.
