Continental has upgraded its material handling tyre range with the improved ContiPT18 press-on-band tyre. The latest features include tread wear indicators for efficient monitoring of tread depth, enhancing safety during operation. The indicators, visible on both sidewalls, facilitate quick assessments of when a tyre needs replacement, minimizing downtime and reducing operating costs.
In addition to the innovative tread wear indicators, Continental has announced the release of eight new tyre sizes in the second quarter of 2024, expanding the product line’s versatility. The ContiPT18 is renowned for its exceptional grip and high traction, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use on various surfaces, meeting the demands of three-shift operations.
The two-stage design of the ContiPT18 ensures long mileage and low rolling resistance. Matthias-Stephan Müller, Product Manager for Material Handling Tires at Continental Specialty Tires, emphasizes the tyre’s outstanding performance, energy efficiency, and contribution to operational safety and efficiency.
Moreover, the modern tyre compounds used in the ContiPT18 result in low heat generation and high wear resistance, maximizing mileage with low rolling resistance. The tyre’s tread design provides optimized transmission of lateral forces, maintaining grip even under heavy loads.
