AAL Shipping (AAL) is strengthening its position in Taiwan by appointing Taiwan Wallem Transportation Co., Ltd. as its exclusive commercial and port agency representative in the region. AAL has been locally represented in Taiwan for over two decades, and this move aims to enhance its premium project heavy lift services.
The Wallem Group, with a history dating back to 1903, has been delivering top-tier port and commercial agency services across Asia. It opened its Taipei office in 1994, establishing a strong local reputation. The Wallem Group has already been working successfully as AAL’s exclusive agency representative in South Korea since 2022.
Christophe Grammare, AAL’s Managing Director, highlighted Taiwan’s significance within Asia, noting robust exports of steel, yachts, and engineered industrial project components to key trading partners such as Australia, the US, and Europe. AAL has a long-standing presence in Taiwan, serving the local multipurpose cargo shipping community with a variety of flexible ocean transportation solutions, including scheduled liner operations, regular trade lane sailings, and tramp services connecting the region with its trading partners.
Grammare expressed his confidence in Wallem’s reliability and deep understanding of the local Taiwanese shipping community, as well as the breakbulk and heavy lift market in Taiwan. The partnership aligns with AAL’s growth ambitions for the region and its commitment to providing competitive premium multipurpose and project heavy lift cargo solutions. The collaboration will bolster AAL’s commercial presence and expand its reach in the local market
