COLI Group’s Antwerp office has completed four out of gauge and heavy cargo shipments across Europe, South America and Africa, highlighting the variety of project logistics handled by the team.
The moves, carried out between February and September 2026, involved a used Liebherr mobile crane, an Atlas Copco compressor, a metro railcar and generator sets weighing 90 tonnes each.
The first project saw a used Liebherr mobile crane transported from Geertruidenberg in the Netherlands to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, for onward delivery to a mining site.
COLI also managed the transport of an oversized Atlas Copco compressor from Antwerp to Antofagasta, Chile. The unit required special road transport, escorted abnormal load movements and dedicated lashing, securing and dunnage before being shipped as flatrack cargo.
In another move, COLI Antwerp worked with COLI Brasil to transport a metro railcar from Brazil to the railway test centre at Petite Forêt near Valenciennes, France.
The project was managed as a complete factory to test track solution, allowing the cargo to remain within COLI’s network throughout the transport chain.
The fourth shipment involved generator sets weighing 90 tonnes each, together with 30 tonne alternators and lifting equipment, transported from Bergen, Norway, to Abidjan.
COLI arranged the breakbulk charter, port agency, lashing, seafastening and marine surveys in house, with the cargo loaded directly onto MAFI trailers.
According to Eduardo Pijpe, Account Manager at COLI Antwerp, the four projects demonstrate the team’s ability to manage different cargo types, transport modes and regulatory environments while providing complete project logistics solutions.
