Air Charter Service Sets New Long-Haul Record—Twice in One Week

Air Charter Service (ACS) has achieved a remarkable milestone by breaking its longest-flight record twice within just six days.

The first record-setting charter took place last month, when ACS operated an Airbus A380 from Dallas Fort Worth to Sydney for a corporate client. The aircraft departed late Monday night (Texas time) and landed late Wednesday morning in Australia, covering 8,578 miles (13,804 km). The route even crossed the International Date Line three times due to a boundary shift near Kiribati. This flight narrowly surpassed ACS’s previous record of 8,448 miles (13,596 km), set in 2021 on an A350-900 between Doha and Monterrey.

Upon arrival in Sydney, the passengers continued on the same aircraft to Perth after a brief two-hour turnaround.

Just a week later, ACS exceeded its own newly set record. A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, again chartered for the same client, flew nonstop from Perth to Los Angeles. The nearly 17-hour journey spanned 9,318 miles (14,997 km), equivalent to almost two-fifths of Earth’s circumference. The aircraft departed Perth at 2:30am local time and landed in California at 4:10am the same day.

This flight distance would rank in the top three longest scheduled routes in operation, behind only Singapore Airlines’ Newark–Singapore and JFK–Singapore services,” noted Matthew Purton, Group Aviation Services Director.
