Chapman Freeborn Celebrates 20 Years in China

Chapman Freeborn is marking over two decades of operations in China this week, having opened its first offices in Beijing and Hong Kong in 2004.

Over the past 20 years, the company has expanded significantly, establishing five offices across Greater China. Leveraging resources from the Chapman Freeborn Group, including Magma Aviation’s direct charter flights, the company has seized opportunities in emerging markets such as e-commerce. Last year, Chapman Freeborn appointed Allen Liu as President of the Greater China region to oversee and further strengthen its operations.

“Chapman Freeborn has established itself as a trusted partner in Greater China, bolstering supply chain resilience,” said Allen Liu. “Air cargo charters provide the flexibility essential for time-critical deliveries and cost management, especially in uncertain times.”

Liu emphasized plans to build on last year’s double-digit growth in charter flight volumes by increasing cargo capacity and expanding the company’s freight forwarding business.

Since joining Chapman Freeborn in 2012, Liu has held key roles, including Senior Cargo Manager for China and Vice President of Cargo for North Asia. He spearheaded the establishment of new offices in Shenzhen and Chengdu, further solidifying the company’s footprint in the region.

To celebrate its 20-year milestone, Chapman Freeborn will host a reception for senior air freight leaders later this year and another event at Air Cargo Southeast Asia in Singapore this October.
