Express Global Logistics (EXG), a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in India, has completed the challenging breakbulk transportation of 72 large pipes from Southeast Asia to Bangladesh. Weighing a combined 3,400 metric tons with a freight volume of 6,100 cubic meters, this complex project involved meticulous planning and was executed in two strategic lots to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
Due to the size and weight of the cargo, EXG’s project team devised an optimized two-lot transport plan, streamlining handling and expediting loading operations across international waters. This method also facilitated better control over cargo movements, ensuring both lots were safely loaded onto breakbulk vessels without incident.
EXG’s Breakbulk Desk managed the challenging loading process, maintaining high safety standards to prevent any damage or delays. The company’s operations team coordinated closely with port authorities to keep a steady workflow and prevent bottlenecks, enabling smooth customs clearance and port handling, ultimately avoiding delays.
During the second lot’s transport, EXG successfully navigated logistical challenges posed by unrest at the Port of Discharge and heavy rainfall during inland transportation. By closely monitoring conditions and strategically adjusting routes, EXG delivered the cargo safely and on schedule. Additionally, minor civil work along the route, such as filling potholes, was completed to ensure the smooth passage of the heavy vehicles.
