Aertssen Group has officially inaugurated its newest international logistics center in Savannah, Georgia, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion. This move strengthens Aertssen’s position as a leading provider of machinery logistics solutions and enhances its global footprint.
Aertssen Logistics, which began as a department within Aertssen Group a decade ago, has evolved from a small-scale storage provider for the construction, mining, and agricultural sectors to one of the foremost logistics players in Europe. Initially serving the European market through three Equipment Processing Centers (EPCs) in Kallo, Verrebroek, and Zeebrugge, Aertssen now plans to open a fourth EPC in Beringen, Belgium.
Each EPC manages comprehensive logistics activities, including machine inspections, repairs, and assemblies. The company processes roughly 30,000 machines annually for global distribution. With the addition of the Savannah site, Aertssen is positioned to double its capacity by 2030.
The Savannah facility is a full-service logistics center offering both indoor and outdoor storage, along with customized technical services. Strategically located near the Port of Savannah—a critical hub for the southeastern U.S.—the 130,000-square-meter site is poised to play a pivotal role in the region’s logistics operations.
“As in Belgium, our motto, ‘People, power, and passion to build on!’ will be the driving force behind our U.S. operations,” said Wouter Clissen, General Manager of Aertssen Logistics USA Inc.
Aertssen’s decision to expand into the U.S. was driven by increasing demand from its global clients, who were eager to see the company’s successful Belgian logistics model replicated in the United States. The U.S. market’s growth potential, combined with the existing demand, has made this a logical step for Aertssen’s global strategy.
The company also plans to establish additional U.S. locations in Baltimore, Tacoma, and Houston to better serve its customers across the country.
The company’s U.S. expansion has already begun on a high note. In May, Aertssen received its first batch of machinery at the Savannah site, and growing demand has indicated the need for further local expansion.
“In everything we do, our customers and employees come first,” said Sam Aertssen, Director of Aertssen Logistics. “While we’ve had an encouraging start in the U.S., we are committed to sustainable growth. I am proud of what we’ve accomplished and look forward to what the future holds.”
With this expansion, Aertssen Group now operates across Europe, the Arabian Gulf, and North America. The company’s global workforce is on track to reach 2,500 employees, reflecting its continued success and growth trajectory.
