BOA Announces Launch of First Jones Act-Compliant Wind Turbine Installation Vessel

BOA has announced the successful launch of the First Jones Act-Compliant Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (WTIV) in support of customer, Fagioli Inc.

The vessel was carefully rolled onto the BOABARGE 29, BOABARGE 30, and BOABARGE 38, and then smoothly placed into the water at the Seatrium AmFELS shipyard in Brownsville, Texas.

This milestone project marked the first-ever simultaneous ballasting operation involving three barges. Additionally, the WTIV launch set a new world record for the largest load out, totaling 26,000 tons, which included the assembly of the world’s largest Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) with 880 axles.
