AAL Shipping (AAL), a project heavy lift carrier, commemorates a decade of success with its AAL Americas division. Established in April 2014 and headquartered in Houston, AAL Americas has overseen the thriving Pacific trade to and from Asia, as well as trans-Atlantic services to Europe and the Middle East.
Henrik Hansen, General Manager of AAL Americas, emphasized the significance of local representation in ensuring efficient communication and operations. Over the past decade, AAL Americas has responded to evolving trade dynamics, particularly in renewable energy and industrial projects, fostering strong ties with diverse partners.
Recent years have witnessed significant growth in manufacturing industrial components in Vietnam, while Thailand, the Middle East, and India have emerged as key markets. Hansen highlighted the increasing demand for power generation projects, including LNG facilities in the US Gulf.
The rise of sustainability initiatives in the US, driven by renewable energy investments, presents further opportunities. Despite challenges such as inflation and supply chain disruptions, wind energy investment remains robust, with substantial growth projected in the coming years.
In addition to renewable energy, the US oil sector is poised for record output, with numerous projects slated for development between 2024 and 2028. AAL Americas navigates the complexities of cargo flows, leveraging its multipurpose cargo fleet and strong support from the dry bulk market.
Looking ahead, AAL Americas is poised for continued growth, bolstered by its new ‘Super B-Class’ fleet and expanded premises in Woodlands, Texas. These developments enable AAL to meet growing customer demand and strengthen its presence in regions like Central and South America.
As AAL Americas marks its tenth year, Hansen reaffirms the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive services and building lasting relationships with clients and vendors. With optimism for the future, AAL Americas embraces new challenges and looks forward to the next decade of success.
