Sarens Projects in the USA is proud to announce its pivotal role in supporting Virginia International Terminals (VIT) at the Portsmouth Marine Terminal (PMT), the epicenter for offshore wind ventures, particularly the transformative Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) farm.

Currently, only a dozen wind turbine generators grace the Eastern U.S. coast, with CVOW poised to become the nation’s largest project of its kind.

Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project, boasting a capacity of 2,640 MW, is strategically located 26-40 miles off the coast of Virginia. Comprising 176 wind turbine generators connected to three offshore substations, each capable of transmitting 880 MW, the project marks a significant leap in green energy initiatives.

Sarens, from now until 2025, will manage the reception and loading of 176 monopiles, 176 transition pieces, alongside jackets and topsides for the three offshore substations.

The journey began on October 19, 2023, with the arrival of the vessel SunShine, loaded with the first eight monopiles by the Sarens team in Rostock, Germany. The subsequent three days saw the Sarens VIT team seamlessly unloading, replacing shipping saddles, transporting piles to storage, and returning shipping saddles to the vessel.

Anticipated to conclude in early 2024, this venture signifies Sarens’ commitment to the forefront of the offshore wind revolution and a sustainable energy future.
