Kalmar Launches Electric Equipment Production in Shanghai

Kalmar, a Cargotec division, has initiated production of electric reachstackers and Essential forklift trucks at its Shanghai facility. The launch event, titled ‘Electrify & Expand,’ took place on December 6, attended by customers and dealer representatives. The Shanghai plant, operational since 2005, manufactures a range of cargo handling equipment and serves global regions.

The electric reachstacker, boasting lifting capacities up to 45 tonnes, enhances eco-efficiency in cargo handling, maintaining high productivity and safety levels. Offering modular battery options and various charging solutions, it suits container handling, intermodal operations, and industrial lifting. The Essential forklift truck, with lifting capacities from 10 to 18 tonnes, is robust and popular among dealers. Initial deliveries are set for the Asia-Pacific, Africa, South America, Oceania, and the Middle East.
